Linda Kelly, National Association of Manufacturers’ Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, wrote an op-ed featured in The Hill addressing an unfortunate reality that has surfaced in courts nationwide at the expense of manufacturers: plaintiffs’ attorneys are pushing the boundaries of tort law and – specifically – stretching the definition of a legal concept called “public nuisance,” a claim that they bring against manufacturers in courts around the country until they find one sympathetic enough to rule in their favor.
