MAP Statement on State of Hawaii Climate Suit

May 2, 2025May 2, 2025 Reading Time: 1 minute

Washington, D.C. – Linda Kelly, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of the National Association of Manufacturers, issued the following statement in response to the State of Hawaii’s lawsuit.

“Manufacturers share Hawaii’s commitment to address climate change in a meaningful way, but this lawsuit is a distraction that will do nothing to advance the solutions we urgently need. The real challenge of our time is developing technologies and public policies so that the world can produce and use energy in ways that are sustainable while ensuring affordability and access. Rather than filing lawsuits, Hawaii should join the productive efforts already underway – driven largely by manufacturers – to deliver real and lasting climate solutions.”
